Saxophone Stuides
at
Susquehanna University
Welcome to the Susquehanna University Saxophone Studio page! I am excited to introduce myself and share the wonderful opportunities available at Susquehanna.
One important distinction at SU is that regardless of the degree a student pursues there is no difference in our commitment for you to become the best musician you can be. What is most important is that at the end of your undergraduate experience, you are prepared and ultimately have choices, i.e. graduate school, employment, etc. Our job is to give you the necessary tools so you can achieve your professional goals.
The SU saxophone studio is a highly active group committed to developing their musicianship. Activities include weekly one-hour lessons, studio classes, recitals, guest artists, and more. We are very fortunate that the University supports many of our activities and needs, including paying for travel (air/hotel) expenses to many off-campus events. We have an outstanding inventory of instruments, including Selmer Paris sopranos, tenors, baritones, and bass saxophones.

Music lies at the heart of Susquehanna. The music we make—in our building is at the very center of campus and wherever our students, faculty, and alumni appear—represents the best of our university. Our curriculum is defined not only by innovation and rigor but by the high value we place on the importance of music in our own lives and in the lives of others.
Saxophone majors have a broad breadth of performance opportunities and study from a full-time teacher. We have excellent financial aid and scholarship opportunities. The University has as had a strong record of supporting programs unique to our saxophone studio including, support to NASA Regional & Biennial Conferences, US NAVY Band Symposium, a week-long course in Paris, and most recently the purchase of a brand new Selmer (Paris) Bass Saxophone! Be a part of the fun!Students seeking admission to Susquehanna's Bachelor of Music or Bachelor of Arts in music degree programs will conduct an audition for the department faculty. The audition should follow the submission of an application for admission to the university.
